The Skill Development Centre, Punjab Agricultural University, organised a one-day training course on agricultural innovation systems and the role of Punjab Agri-Business Incubator (PABI) in the startup ecosystem.
The session was conducted for in-service candidates. A total of 12 agriculture development officers, horticulture development officers, soil conservation officers and scientists from Krishi Vigyan Kendras attended the course.
Rupinder Kaur, associate director, Skill Development, welcomed the participants and highlighted the course contours. Kulvir Kaur and Kanwaljit Kaur coordinated the event. Technical coordinator Lavleesh Garg gave an overview of the course.
A session on role of government officials in startup ecosystem by Karanvir Gill, business manager, and Rahul Gupta, assistant manager (PABI), was among the highlights of the day. They discussed case studies and solutions of problems with startup founders. It was followed by a discussion on promoting entrepreneurship in agri-business. Ramandeep Singh, director, School of Business Studies, elaborated the pivotal role of the NIDHI-TBI in promoting entrepreneurship in agri-businesses.
