Two judges, a public prosecutor and 13 judicial employees have been sent to home quarantine for 14 days after two accused, who were produced before the court of a Judicial Magistrate, tested positive for Covid-19.
The two accused, Charanjit Singh and Paramjit Singh, yesterday tested positive, following which District and Sessions Judge Gurbir Singh ordered to send the judicial officers and the staff to home quarantine. The Judicial Magistrate’s husband, who is also a Judicial Magistrate, has also been sent to home quarantine.
The judicial staff who have been asked to home-quarantine themselves include a reader, criminal ahlmad, civil ahlmad, judgment writer, naib court, the judge’s gunman, steno, a lawyer and an usher. The reader’s wife and the judgment writer’s husband were also asked to home-quarantine themselves.
