SAMRALA: Two car-borne persons were killed in a road accident when their vehicle was hit by a speeding tipper coming from the wrong side near Dhande village on Tuesday night.

Two car-borne persons were killed in a road accident when their vehicle was hit by a speeding tipper coming from the wrong side near Dhande village on Tuesday night.

The deceased were identified as Satar Mohamed (40), a resident of Hol village, and Ram Rad Saholia (45), a resident of Uttar Pradesh. As per information the duo were travelling in an Alto car from the Machiwara side towards Neelon. When they reached near Dhande village a tipper coming from the opposite side collided head on with their car resulting in death of both the vehicle occupants on the spot.

Investigation officer, ASI Sukhwinder Singh, said the Samrala police had registered a case against tipper driver Jaswant Singh, a resident of Sihora village, on the statement of Anwar Khan.

The tipper driver had absconded after the accident, he added.

When contacted, the SHO, Samrala, Sukhbir Singh, said the bodies of deceased were handed over to their families after a postmortem examination in the afternoon today.

Acccording to the SHO efforts were on to arrest the tipper driver as soon as possible.
