Eightytwo persons tested positive for Covid while two lost their lives to the virus today. Now, the total number of patients related to Ludhiana is 23,161. The total number of persons who lost their lives has reached 909 and five patients were on ventilator support.

Those who lost their lives today include a 56-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman, who were admitted to Mohan Dai Oswal Hospital and DMCH, respectively.

According to the Health Department, at present, there are 918 active patients in the district. Today, 82 new patients from the district and 20 from other states/districts have tested positive in the past 24 hours. So far, a total of 4,67,406 samples have been taken, of which reports of 4,64,340 have been received. Of these, 4,37,880 samples were found negative while reports of 3,066 were pending.

According to the figures of the Health Department, till date, 51,423 persons have been kept under home quarantine in the district and at present, the number of such persons is 2,315.

On Thursday, 246 persons were sent for home quarantine and 3,556 samples of suspected patients were sent for testing and their results are expected shortly.

The district administration and the Health Department has appealed to residents to follow all directions of the state government.

If they would stay indoors, they would not only stay safe themselves but would also contribute to keeping everyone around safe.
