Ludhiana, June 18
The Government College for Girls (GCG) held its 78th annual prize distribution function here today. Rajiv Kumar Gupta, DPI (Colleges), Punjab, presided over the function and distributed prizes among students. Dr Ashwani Bhalla, ADPI (Colleges), was the guest of honour on the occasion. Principal Suman Lata welcomed the guests and elaborated on the achievements of the college staff and students while reading the annual report 2021-22.
As many as 239 students were awarded prizes for their excellent performance in academics, sports and co-curricular activities. Thirty two students were awarded roll of honour, 36 students were felicitated with college colour and 84 students got merit certificates. Shiny George was awarded all-rounder best student.
While addressing the audience, Rajiv Kumar Gupta, encouraged students to work pro-actively and devote themselves for the nation building. He declared an obstacle course to be introduced in college. He announced Smt Omvati prize along with cash to be given to best college student. He promulgated a cash prize of Rs 21,000 to Kanishka Dhir. ADPI, Dr Ashwani Bhalla emphasised on higher education for girls.
