Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP Traffic 1) Jatin Bansal, who led the cops during a special drive at Malhar Road area, said the action focused on two areas and meant to curb hooliganism, protect life and property of the public, and check chaos normally seen on festival days.

“We cracked down on the venues that allow nicotine consumption through use of vape and electric cigarettes. We also focused on flouting of traffic rules,” said Bansal, adding that a targeted search operation was conducted.

Bansal added that two cases were registered against violators found in possession of prohibited electronic nicotine delivery systems.
