Ludhiana, April 20
The Meharban police have nabbed three persons on the charge of gambling. They have been identified as Baldev Raj of Vidya Vihar Colony, Hazi Ansari of Madhav Colony and Kulwinder Ram of Model Colony. The investigating officer, Head Constable Gurmukh Singh, said acting on a tip-off, a raid was conducted on Jagirpur Road where the suspects were caught gambling. The police also recovered Rs 5,120 from their possession.
Man goes missing
A 50-year-old man went missing under mysterious circumstances. Complainant Sugriv Kumar of Bimla Colony told the police that his father Jagan Nath was working as a sewer man and was deployed at the Municipal Corporation’s office in Karabara Chowk. On March 30, his father had gone for work at Bindra Colony but did not return later. He suspected that he could have been kept under wrongful confinement by some unidentified persons. The police have launched a manhunt.
