The Northern Railway has declared to operate three special trains between different railway stations in northern India during the festival season. These trains will also halt at the Ludhiana railway station. The decision has been taken to manage the huge rush of passengers during the ongoing festival season.
The number of passengers travelling in trains has increased manifolds in the past some days as thousands of people are returning to their native places to take part in festivals.
As per the information, the special trains will be operated between Katra-New Delhi, Katra-Anand Vihar and Katra-Varanasi railway stations. The train between Katra and New Delhi will be tri-weekly and would be operated till November 21, whereas the train between Katra and Anand Vihar would be operated twice a week till November 16. Besides, train between Katra and Varanasi would be operated once a week and would be run till November 20.
Ludhiana Railway Station Director Abhinav Singla said special trains had been started to manage the increased rush of passengers during the festival season. The new trains comprise AC, sleeper, two and three-tier and general coaches, he added.
