The police have booked at least 30 persons, including 20 to 25 unidentified assailants, in two cases of assault in the city.
Gulshan Kumar, Pooja and their 20 to 25 unidentified accomplices have been booked for alleged assault on Vaneet Nanda, a resident of New Gopal Nagar.
The complainant stated that Gulshan Kumar, along with his accomplices, barged into his house on the night of September 11. The suspects first attacked his mother and later beat him up, Nanda added. “At the same time, assailants also damaged my vehicle (PB-91F-7114) parked outside the house,” said Nanda.
The prime suspect, Gulshan, a rehri vendor, was nursing a grudge against him, Nanda added.
In another case of assault, the police have registered a case against Santosh Rani, Sanjeev Kumar, Tarun, alias Tanu, and Mani for an alleged attack and vandalism at the residence of Sunita Rani in New Subhash Nagar.
The complainant stated that the suspects were creating ruckus outside her residence at around 9.45 pm.
“When my husband tried to intervene and told them to go away, the suspects attacked him with a wooden stick and kirpan. My daughter Sakshi, son Gaurav, brother-in-law Naunihal and his son Karan went to rescue my husband, but they were also beaten up by the assailants, who fled after issuing threats to our family,” the complainant added.
