Ludhiana, March 1
Thirtyfour persons tested positive for Covid, while one lost his life to the virus in the district today.
The total positive cases till date have gone to 27,180, while those who lost their life due to the virus are 1,030.
Those who tested positive today included four students from DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, Gurmukh Public School, Maachiwara, Dayanand Medical College, SKS Nursing College, Sarabha. In addition, a staff member of the Police Department, a healthcare worker and a community health officer of Khasi Kalan tested positive.
The person who lost his life today was a 50-year-old female who had been admitted to the CMCH and was a diabetic and anaemic.
There are 564 active patients in the district at present. Till date, a total of 6,68,830 samples have been taken, out of which the reports of 6,67,443 samples have been received. Out of these, 6,36,029 samples were found negative, while the reports of 1,387 samples were pending. The total number of patients related to Ludhiana is 27,180, while 4,234 patients belong to other districts/states.
Till date, 57,766 persons have been kept under home quarantine in the district and at present, the number of such persons is 1,079. Today, 104 persons were sent for home quarantine.
Whenever the district administration and the Health Department Ludhiana find out about positive or suspected Covid persons, their samples are immediately sent for testing. Similarly, 2,427 samples of the suspected patients were sent for testing today and their results were expected shortly.
