A 38-year-old man was found dead under mysterious circumstances at his house in Bhora colony on Thursday evening. Kin suspecting a murder, levelled allegation on the deceased’s wife.

The accused has been identified as Lal Chand. He runs a cigarette vend near his house.  As per the available information, about four months back, wife of the deceased had eloped with some guy with whom she had extra marital affair. She also left behind her two children, including a 13-year-old daughter and an 8-year-old son. She had reached back home just four days back. 

SHO Salem Tabri police Vijay Kumar was informed by the people residing in the nearby areas about the incident.

The police had also detained the woman for questioning. The deceased’s brother alleged that Lal Chand’s wife had killed him as she was not in good terms with him as she used to consider her husband as a hindrance in her extra-marital affair.

However, the deceased’s wife alleged that her husband’s health was not well and she had been taking him to hospital for the past three days. She also produced some medical slips to the police as evidence.

Sources said that the deceased had no visible injury marks on his body.

SHO Vijay said the statement of deceased’s brothers was being recorded and postmortem was also being conducted adding that action will be taken after receiving the autopsy report.
