39 positive cases, no death in Ludhiana district

Ludhiana, December 21

Thirtynine persons tested positive for Covid, while no death was reported due to it in the district today.

The total number of positive cases in the district has reached 24,418, while the death count remained the same as 949. There are 597 active cases in the district at present, while 77 people were home quarantined today.

The number of samples collected from the district till date are 5,15,997.

Today, three patients were on ventilator support, out of whom one belonged to Ludhiana district, while two were from other districts.

Deputy Commissioner Varinder Sharma said whenever the district administration and the Health Department, Ludhiana, find out about any positive or suspected Covid-19 person, their samples are immediately sent for testing.

A total of 1,792 samples of suspected patients were sent for testing today and their results were expected shortly. Sharma appealed to the residents to follow all directions of the Punjab Government on coronavirus and try to stay indoors and move out of their houses only for essential works. This way, they would not only help themselves but also contribute to keeping everyone around safe.
