Four persons belonging to two warring groups were injured, one of them getting shot in the leg, during a clash that took place at Khera village in Ludhiana district on Tuesday afternoon.
The Dehlon police has registered a cross case against 16 persons, nine of the defendant party and seven from the complainant side. Navjot Singh of Khera suffered a bullet injury on left leg while Mahesh Sharma of Juhi Enclave, Haibowal, Ludhiana, had an injury on the head.
Perusal of an FIR registered under Sections 333, 324 (4), 191 (3) and 190 of the BNS on Wednesday revealed that Vansh Bhardwaj and Manjinder Singh of Khera village had started a dispute over the running of their dairies situated at the village.
Both groups had entered a scuffle over the issue of influencing each other’s customers twice on Tuesday and the dispute turned uglier late in the evening when Mahesh, who had been called by the complainant Vansh for intervention, received an injury on the head and Mahesh’s son Parvesh opened fire with his revolver. One of the bullets hit Navjot on his left leg.
The injured were admitted to separate healthcare centres, where the police recorded their statements on Wednesday and registered an FIR against Manjinder, Navjot, Jashandeep Singh, Gagandeep Singh and five unknown persons. Seven persons of the other side have also been booked for allegedly injuring Navjot, Manjinder Singh and Goldy.
