Ludhiana: Four members of a family suffered injuries after their motorcycle was hit by a speedy vehicle at Libra village on a national highway in Khanna on Tuesday. The injured were identified as Abhimanyu, his wife Radika, their son Ajitpal (9) and daughter Ragini, residents of Sahnewal. They were undergoing treatment at the Civil Hospital, Khanna. Abhimanyu said he, along with his family, was going to meet their relatives in Gobindgarh and when they reached Libra village, a speedy vehicle rammed into the motorcycle and they suffered injuries. Man held on theft charge
Sahnewal: The police arrested a person who used to sell stolen items in market after stealing these from different factories with the assistance of the workers employed there. A total of 1,250 kg of nut and bolts have been recovered from his custody. The jeep in which he used to carry these materials was also taken into custody. SHO Amandeep Singh Brar said Harpreet Singh from Prabhat Nagar used to steal nut bolts from different factories in and around Dhandhari in connivance with the workers of these factories and sell these at cheaper rates in the market. On a tip off, the Sahnewal police at a naka imposed near Kanganwal stopped Harpeet Singh who was coming on his jeep number PB 35 Z 0982 and searched him. The police recovered 1,250 kg of nut bolt material from the jeep. The material along with the jeep has been taken into custody.
