5-storey building collapses in Ludhiana, major tragedy averted
A five-storey building, which was about 100 years old, collapsed at Bandiya Mohalla, Ucchi Gali here on Tuesday.
The building was in the interior part of the city.
Two persons, including a mother and her child, got injured. They were admitted to a private hospital.
According to reports, two-three families were living in the building but they had vacated it yesterday only. A major tragedy was averted as it was empty when it collapsed.
The neighbours said that they had complained about the dilapidated state of the building to the owner but to no avail.
Panic gripped among neighbours and they said that the walls of their house had also collapsed due to the force.
