50 units collected during blood camp at vet varsity

At least 50 units of blood were collected during a donation camp oragnised by the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University on the campus.

Over the past week, the NSS unit also organised a poster-making competition and water distribution drive. The poster-making competition was organised with the theme “Be a Hero - Donate Blood”.

Dr GS Grewal from the Civil Hospital, Jagraon, said regular blood donation drives are needed throughout the year to ensure adequate supply for patients.

Dr Suruchi Mangal and Dr Anjana Arora from the Civil Hospital, Phagwara, were also part of the blood donation drive. Nidhi Sharma, NSS programme coordinator, said the volunteers donated blood, and motivated students and farmers to come forward.

Sarvpreet Singh Ghuman, director students’ welfare, hailed the activities organised by the NSS volunteers.
