As many as 55 beneficiaries attended a four-day programme on “Entrepreneurship development training on bakery products with focused approach on biscuits” organised by Punjab Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (PAMETI), said officials. They said the beneficiaries included farmers, rural youth and budding entrepreneurs.
Ravneet Singh, deputy director, PAMETI, provided a comprehensive overview of the training and highlighted core objectives to empower aspiring entrepreneurs with the technical, managerial and marketing skills required to establish and sustain a profitable biscuit-focused bakery enterprise.
In the inaugural session, PAMETI director KB Singh elaborated on the emphasised the need to develop entrepreneurial and technical competencies for the production and commercialisation of biscuit products. He stressed on strengthening marketing, branding and distribution strategies tailored specifically for biscuit-based enterprises.
Experts from Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) and Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University delivered lectures and interacted with the participants.
A visit to was organised to the Food Incubation Centre at the Department of Food Science and Technology, PAU, to enhance practical understanding among the participants.
They also attended hands-on practical sessions on the preparation of desi ghee flour biscuits, including kneading and baking techniques.
