7 held with 81 bottles of liquor

The city police continued with their drive to curb smuggling and illegal sale of liquor with the arrest of seven bootleggers and recovery of 81 bottles of liquor from different localities across the city.

The police said among those arrested and charged with Sections 61/1 and 14 of the Excise Act were Bhim Lal from Clock Tower Chowk (11 bottles of XXX Rum), Sandeep Kumar from Cheema Chowk (12 bottles of Royal Stag Whisky), Fateh Singh from Tibba Road, Sahnewal (17 bottles of 555 Gold Whisky), Ichkaran Singh from Passi Nagar (18 bottles of country liquor), Aman Kumar from Kwality Chowk (11 bottles of Imperial Blue Whisky), a woman Pappi from Dr Ambedkar Nagar in Model Town (95 nips Cash Whisky) and Sandeep Kumar

from Tajpur Road (12 bottles of Binnie Whisky).
