Ludhiana: A nine-year-old boy went missing under mysterious circumstances. The complainant, Ramu Sahni, of Jivan Nagar told the police that on September 20, when his son Bikram Kumar was playing outside the house, he went missing. He suspected that his son might be kept under wrongful confinement by some unknown persons. The police have launched a probe in the case. TNS

Three arrested for gambling

Ludhiana: The Daresi police arrested three persons on the charge of gambling. The suspects have been identified as Prince of Kirpal Nagar, Navis of Ashok Nagar and Jugal of New Madhopuri. Investigation officer ASI Amrik Singh said acting on a tip-off, a raid was conducted at the house of Jugal from where the suspects were caught red-handed while gambling. TNS

3 snatchers held with 8 phones

Ludhiana: The Police Division 6 nabbed three snatchers and recovered eight mobile phones and a scooter from their possession. The suspects have been identified as Gagandeep Gora of Jawahar Nagar, Neeraj Kumar of Labour Colony and Nishu of Jawahar Nagar. SHO Inspector Amandeep Singh Brar said on September 18, the suspects had snatched a mobile phone and Rs 1,800 in cash from Rohit Kumar near the Military Camp, Dholewal. The suspects revealed that they were facing shortage of money due to which they started committing crimes. TNS
