Varleen lost her mother barely six months before the board examinations, which were held in February. The loss left the family emotionally shaken at a crucial time in her academic journey.

Varleen had always shared her dreams with her mother, often telling her that she wanted to pursue a career in the aviation sector. The loss not only caused deep emotional pain but also brought a sudden change in her daily life.

Being the elder sibling, Varleen had to take responsibility for her home. With her grandmother too old to manage everything alone, she took charge of household chores while also ensuring that her younger brother, a Class III student, continued his studies without disruption.

Balancing these responsibilities with her own exam preparation was a difficult task, but she remained focused on her goal.

“It was very tough after my mother’s death. I had to handle the house, take care of my brother and study at the same time. But I always remembered my dream and what I had promised my mother,” Varleen said.

Her father, a small farmer, said that the family went through a very difficult time, but Varleen showed great strength.

“She managed everything on her own and still achieved such good marks. She has made us proud,” he said.

Teachers at the school described her achievement as inspiring, saying that Varleen remained dedicated to her studies despite emotional stress and added responsibilities at home.

Determined to fulfil her dream of entering the aviation sector, Varleen now plans to continue her studies with the same focus and hard work. Her journey stands as an inspiration for many, proving that with courage, responsibility and determination, even the hardest situations can be overcome.
