Sood started playing cricket at the age of 11, receiving encouragement and initial coaching from his father Pardeep Sood — an achiever in the Katoch Shield Trophy.

He has represented his secondary educational institutes — Kendriya Vidyalaya, Halwara, and Anand Isher Senior Secondary School, Chhapaar, in Ludhiana district — in several inter-school tournaments.

He continued nursing his passion for cricket after moving to Canada in 2014, playing for his college, Centennial College, Toronto, where his team won several prizes at the inter-college and inter-university levels.

He joined Victoria Park Cricket Club in 2016, playing as an all-rounder.

Currently, Sood plays some of the most coveted titles in Canada, including the Scarborough League, Lakeshore League (indoor and outdoor), and Toronto Super Cricket League (indoor and outdoor).

He had captained several T20 and ODI teams under the banner of his club, and got selected for the Canadian Indoor Cricket Team in 2025.

During his Bengaluru tour as vice-captain, he was declared ‘Man of the Match’ in one of the events.
