Ludhiana, April 11

Amarpura and Chowkiman in the city have been declared as Covid ‘hotspots’. Maximum samples are being collected from this area by the Health Department. From Amarpura, three patients have tested Covid positive so far, of which a woman has died. At Chowkiman, two persons have tested positive.

“We are collecting maximum samples these days and more stress is being laid on these two areas, as five persons have tested positive from these areas. We are tracing the contacts of these persons and teams are also visiting house to house to see if there is any suspected patient,” said the Civil Surgeon, Dr Rajesh Bagga.

Today, samples of 17 policemen who had come in contact with a snatcher, who later tested positive, were taken.

Dr Bagga said one patient had fully recovered and he had been discharged.

Meanwhile, Captain Sandeep Sandhu, political adviser to Chief Minister, visited Civil Hospital to inspect preparedness for Covid-19. The staff discussed with him various problems faced by them.

District Admn to expand 108 ambulance service

In case of medical emergency, one can avail of 108 ambulance service. The Administration will expand the service in Ludhiana so that a large number of people are benefited.
