The Anganwadi Mulazim Union held a rally here today in which the elected representatives of 15 blocks participated. They condemned the AAP government for its indifference and alleged no work could be done without struggle and anguish. The union leaders including, Surjit Kaur and Subhash Rani, while addressing workers, said before coming to power, the AAP had assured the salaries of workers would be increased but nothing happened. Even the pre-primary students were not given back to the Anganwadis, they added.

The union leaders said they had always been front-runners during the Covid pandemic or in times of other emergencies but both the state and Union governments had not done anything for the welfare of workers and no budgetary increase was made under the ICDS scheme. The workers said, over the coming days, they would intensify their struggle and even take their fight to Delhi to secure their rights.
