Ludhiana, July 10

In an effort to bring government services to the doorsteps of residents, a camp was organised at Bhaini Sahib village in the district as part of the state government’s ‘Sarkar Aap De Dwar’ programme.

During the camp, the officials concerned approved applications for senior citizen cards, old-age pensions, widow pensions, power load enhancements and new bank accounts on the spot.

Kashmir Singh and Savinder Kaur received prompt approval for their senior citizen cards, while Bhupinder Singh obtained the sanction letter for an old-age pension. Harbhajan Singh also successfully applied for power load enhancement and Harvinder Singh, Tarsem Kaur and Priya opened bank accounts at the camp.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) Anmol Singh Dhaliwal explained that the camps were supervised by SDMs and involved officials from various government departments such as revenue, sewa kendras, social justice, empowerment and minorities, social security and development of women and children, agriculture and farmers’ welfare, health, water supply and sanitation, PSPCL, rural development and panchayats, food and civil supplies, labour and police. These officials provided on-the-spot services and addressed any grievances that people had. Dhaliwal emphasised the Chief Minister’s commitment to ensuring that government services and schemes reached the masses, and announced to hold more such camps across the district. He encouraged people to participate in these camps. During the camp, the ADC, SDM Vikas Hira and others handed over sanction letters of pensions and senior citizen cards to complainants.
