At Ludhiana meet, BKU (Kadian) members vow to support farmers’ protest on Sept 1
BKU (Kadian) will participate in the upcoming farmers' protest in Chandigarh
The Bharati Kisan Union (Kadian) has declared its participation in the farmers’ protest scheduled for September 1 in Chandigarh.
Addressing a meeting here on Saturday, Harmeet Singh Kadian, union president, said farmers from across the nation will join the agitation.
Kadian accused the state government of failing to honour commitments made in earlier meetings with representatives of farmer unions.
He highlighted pending payments under various government schemes, stressing that unresolved issues of farmers’ welfare remain a major concern.
“Our struggle will continue until farmers’ demands are met,” Kadian said. He added that the farmers’ committee will coordinate with the police to ensure peaceful arrangements during the protest.
The leaders also criticised the state government’s stance on agricultural laws, pointing to alleged coordination between the Centre and the US administration. The BKU (Kadian) reiterated its opposition to policies that it alleged undermined farmers’ rights and livelihood.
