ATM fraud:Man loses Rs 2.51L



Ludhiana, September 21

A resident of GTB Nagar in Mundian Kalan, fell victim to a fraudster who withdrew Rs 2,51,970 from his bank account on different dates.

In a police complaint, the victim, Sardari Lal, said he had withdrawn Rs 10,000 from the ATM of the 33-Foot Road branch of State Bank of India on the evening of September 4. He said while he was counting the cash, two other persons present at the spot, who had seen his ATM PIN, tricked him into changing his ATM card with another. Later, they used the ATM card to withdraw a sum of Rs 2,51,970 from his bank account. — OC
