Ludhiana, May 22
District Bar Association president Ashok Mittal and other office-bearers today condemned the attack on the Khanna Bar Association’s former president Munish Khanna. Showing resentment, the city lawyers observed a strike.
Ashok Mittal said the Khanna lawyer was brutally attacked with sharp-edged weapons on last Sunday night.
He said such type of incidents would not be tolerated.
Earlier, the police had registered an FIR under Sections 323, 341, 506, 148 and 149 of the IPC in this regard. But now, the police are learnt to have added Section 307 (attempt to murder) in the case.
Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana’s vice-chairman Gurtej Singh Grewal and member Chetan Verma met injured Munish Khanna at a hospital to know about his well-being. — TNS
