Ludhiana, June 4
Thieves made a futile attempt to uproot an ATM of Axis Bank on the Raikot-Jagraon road in the early hours today.
The incident came to light in the morning when local residents noticed the damaged ATM. They immediately informed the police.
According to the police, thieves first broke the locks of the main shutter of the ATM booth. They tried to uproot the ATM. The police said it could be possible that the thieves wanted to take away the ATM. The CCTV cameras captured the entire crime. “The bank authorities are yet to hand over the CCTV footage to the police. We are also scanning the recording of the CCTV cameras installed in the area to get a clue about the thieves. So far, we have registering a case against unknown thieves,” said a police official.
