Lakhwinder Singh and Onkarjit Singh scripted easy wins in their respective age groups in the Ludhiana District Masters Badminton Tournament being held at Shastri Hall, near Guru Nanak Stadium, here on Saturday.
In the 35 plus singles category, Lakhwinder got the better of his opponent Hardeep Singh in straight sets 21-5 and 21-12 while Onkarjit Singh overpowered Rajiv Sabharwal in the 45 plus group 21-10 and 21-5 to advance into the next round.
Mohinder Grewal, president, District Badminton Association, Ludhiana, inaugurated the tournament. “Players’ performance considered while finalising district masters team for the ensuing Open Punjab Masters Badminton Championship,” he said.—OC
