Badminton Tourney: Ameila, Trisha register easy wins

Ludhiana, August 4

Ameila Bhakoo and Trisha Mahajan scored easy victories in the girls U-13 and U-19 category, respectively in the ongoing Ludhiana District Badminton Tournament being held at Shastri Hall near Guru Nanak Stadium on Thursday.

Ameila beat Kavya Bansal hands down 21-2, 21-2 and Trisha proved too good for Navaya Chawla whom she tamed 21-2, 21-7.

In the boys’ U-19 section, Krish Chadha along with Varinder Jit Singh, Ashmit Singh and Yogeshwar Narang wrapped up their respective matches while in the girls’ U-11 group, Gurnaz Kaur, Swaroop Saran, Samaira Aggarwal and Aamya Tiwari romped home as victor.

Boys U-19: Hargun Singh beat Madhav Gupta; Krish Chadha beat Aryan; Varinderjit Singh beat Waryam Singh; Pratham Sood beat Vaibhav Gosain; Ashmit Singh beat Nirman Jain; Tanmay Tomar beat Trun Singhal; Milin Malhotra beat Madhav Sood and Yogeshwar Narang beat Raghuvansh Verma.

Girls U-13: Upneet Kaur beat Manjot Kaur; Sanchi Arora beat Panshu Bansal; Ananya got walkover against Harshita; Khushi beat Amaira; Ameila Bhakoo beat Kavya Bansal; Adhira beat Kamil; Amiya Sachdeva beat Navkaran Kaur and Janya Maggo beat Sonali.

Girls U-11: Gurnaz Kaur beat Alveera; Swaroop Saran beat Bhani Kaur; Tania Dhiman got walk over against Prisha Popli; Mysha Aroa got walkover against Shanaya; Samaira Aggarwal beat Gursirat Kaur; Aadhira beat Sifat; Aamya Tiwari beat Nitara Sharma and Kamil Sabharwal beat Sameeha Maggo.

Girls U-19: Tia Mahajan beat Achint Kaur; Anupama beat Birti Kaur; Trisha Mahajan beat Navaya Chawla; Trishi beat Dakshita and Prabhleen Kaur beat Reet Kawatra.
