Bike-borne miscreants attack student in full public view

A video of a school student being attacked with a sharp weapon has surfaced from Hazuri Road here on Wednesday. It showed that two bike-riding miscreants surrounded students in the middle of the road and abused the victim. The miscreants indulged in arguments with the student and assaulted him. They also took out a dagger hidden behind their waist and tried to attack the victim.

According to information, two youths riding a motorcycle stopped the student who had come out of SDP Pracharak School on Hazuri Road after taking an exam and tried to attack him with a dagger. When the miscreants riding the motorcycle took out the weapon, the student entered a shop to save his life. When shopkeepers came out of their shops, the attackers threatened the students and fled the scene.

It was learnt that a student had arguments with another child at the school and the latter had called the miscreants. The bike of the suspects was not bearing any registration number. The incident was captured on CCTV cameras.

The video of the incident reached the Ludhiana police after which the Police Division 3 was ordered by officials to investigate the matter thoroughly.

SHO Vijay Kumar said parents of the children were called to the police station. Appropriate action would be taken after investigating the matter.
