Ludhiana, June 10
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Union Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu are among the BJP’s 40 star campaigners for the Ludhiana West bypoll.
The names of BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh, Punjab party chief Sunil Jakhar, Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, former ministers Hardeep Singh Puri, Anurag Thakur and Vijay Sampla and former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani also figured on the list, which was released by the party on Tuesday evening.
BJP Delhi Cabinet Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, who is also on the list, has campaigned in the Ludhiana west segment recently.
Former MP Avinash Rai Khanna, former MP Shwait Malik and Pathankot MLA Ashwani Sharma are also campaigning for the party.
Other party leaders who have been included in the list are Hans Raj Hans, Saudan Singh, Dr Narinder Singh Raina, Manoranjan Kalia, Dr Charanjeet Singh Atwal, Harjit Singh Grewal, Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi, RP Singh, Som Parkash, Jangi Lal Mahajan,
Dinesh Singh Babbu, Mona Jaiswal, Jai Inder Kaur, Kewal Singh Dhillon, Gejja Ram Valmiki, Sushil Rinku, Fatehjung Singh Bajwa,
Ashwani Sekhri, Mantri Srinivasulu, Rakesh Rathour,
Dayal Sodhi, Anil Sarin, Jagmohan Singh Raju and Parminder Singh Brar.
The Ludhiana West bypoll was necessitated after the sudden death of Gurpreet Gogi, who was a Aam Aadmi Party MLA. AAP had fielded its sitting Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora, while the Congress has given ticket to its former cabinet minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu, the BJP has fielded its old worker Jiwan Gupta and Parupkar Singh Ghuman has been fielded by the SAD.
The polling is scheduled for June 19.
