Samrala, September 11

Malwa College, Samrala, organised a function to celebrate the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. SP Singh Oberoi, chairman, Sarbat Daa Bhala Trust, and Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, Cabinet Minister in Punjab governmet, were chief guests of function.

Oberoi offered to bear financial burden of studies of all such students who have no bread-earners in their family. He donated eight computers to the college while Dharamsot announced a grant of Rs 2 lakh from his discretionary quota.

Paramjit Kaur Sobti, principal of the college, thanked the audience and the guests for making the function a grand success. A langar was also organised on the campus.
