Camp apprises farmers of crop management

LUDHIANA: The monthly training camp for farmers organised by the PAU Kisan Club under the aegis of Dr Jaskarn Singh Mahal, Director Extension, PAU, Ludhiana, was held here today.

The monthly training camp for farmers organised by the PAU Kisan Club under the aegis of Dr Jaskarn Singh Mahal, Director Extension, PAU, Ludhiana, was held here today.

Addressing a gathering of more than 370 farmers, Dr Tejinder Singh Riar, Associate Director, Skill Development, discussed the salient activities of the club. Experts, Dr MS Bhullar, Dr Gupta, Dr Itanshu Goyal, Dilbag Singh shared the details about management of insects in Rabi crops, conservation of soil health, dental hygiene and role of the Dairy Development Board, respectively.

A farmer, Charnaharpal Singh, shared his experiences with the farmers. The PAU Kisan Club president, Manpreet Singh Grewal, extended the vote of thanks.

Dr Rupinder Kaur revealed that monthly meeting of the ladies wing of the PAU Kisan Club was held at Kairon Kisan Club, PAU, Ludhiana, in which 45 farm women had participated. They were given information on recipes prepared from seasonal fruits and vegetables by Dr Sukhpreet Kaur. — TNS
