Campus notes: Arya college
A cleanliness oath ceremony was organised in Arya College under the aegis of NSS Unit, NCC Unit 4 PB Air Squadron and Red Ribbon Club to observe Swachhata Abhiyan fortnight. Students of NSS, NCC and Red Ribbon Club of the college as well as other students, professors and staff of the college took the oath to keep their surroundings clean. Principal Sukshma Ahluwalia said every person should take out some time and do Shramdaan and to inspire other people to join this cleanliness mission.
Guru Nanak Public School
An awareness programme on ‘neurodevelopmental disorders’ and learning disabilities was organised for the teachers of Gujranwala Guru Nanak Public School. Clinical psychologist Dr Atul Madan, the resource person, apprised the teachers of the disorders like autism, ADHD and learning disabilities which goes unidentified among children. Early intervention plays a vital role in addressing these conditions at a younger age. Principal Gunmeet Kaur said collaborative efforts between teachers and psychologists could contribute significantly to a more inclusive educational environment and promote holistic development of the children.
BCM school
BCM School, Chandigarh Road, celebrated NSS Day with a vibrant display of social responsibility and community engagement. Over 50 students participated in a range of activities aimed at promoting cleanliness and raising awareness about the dangers of drug abuse. The event featured engaging poster competitions, powerful slogan writing and thought-provoking elocutions.
Sat Paul Mittal School
To honour and celebrate the role of grandparents in our lives, Grandparents’ Day celebrations were held at the Mittal Auditorium. The day commenced with a warm welcome extended by Sunil Gupta, member, Governing Council, Sat Paul Mittal School. He emphasised on the connection between grandparents and grandchildren in shaping family bonds, nurturing emotional wellbeing and personal growth. The day was marked with various activities which included, ‘The Wellness Forum’, a session on health tips and wellness for grandparents.
Khalsa College for Women
A slogan writing competition was organised by the Red Ribbon Club of Khalsa College for Women to create an awareness about the menace of drug abuse. The activity was based on the theme, ‘The evidence is clear: Invest in prevention’. An awareness drive was taken out on the ill-effects of substance abuse.
