Campus notes: Ryan International School
Ludhiana: It was a refreshing morning for the students of Ryan International School, as they participated in 'Run for Fitness — an Anti-Drug Rally,' organised by the school on Wednesday, powered by Decathlon. The students covered a stretch of 3 km, running with vigour and enthusiasm. The rally was flagged off by school principal Manasi Thapar. The students waved placards which conveyed messages against drugs and spread awareness of the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Winners Krishna Chhabra and Loveleen Kaur were awarded Decathlon sports shoes. Two parents, Praveen Mishra and Bhumika, completed this fitness run successfully and were also felicitated. Twenty students were given certificates and prizes by Decathlon. Thapar appreciated the mass participation by students and motivated them to continue taking part in such events in order to fight social evils.
Arya College
PG Department of Commerce and Business management, in collaboration with the IQAC organised a workshop on ‘AI and its impact on commerce and business’. Prof Sushil Kalyani (UPES, Dehradun) and Sumit Wason, an international certified career counsellor, (assistant director UPES, Dehradun) conducted the enlightening session. The event aimed at empowering students with vital information on artificial intelligence and the roles it has in the day-to-day life Principal Suksham Ahluwalia and Dr SM Sharma, secretary, ACMC, appreciated the efforts of the department for arranging the workshop.
BCM College
The 15th NSS Camp on the theme ‘Youth for My Bharat and Youth for Digital Literacy’ was inaugurated at BCM College. The week-long camp commenced with a lamp lighting ceremony along with the recitation of the Gaytri Mantra. Agile NSS volunteers put their best foot forward by showcasing PPTs, reciting poems, singing songs, dancing and sharing the history of NSS, making the inaugural function a memorable one. Prguna shared glimpses of the 14th NSS Camp. NSS wing incharge Shilpa Kaura familiarised the gathering with the action plan for the camp.
Kamla Lohtia SD College
An IT quiz ‘TECH-KRITI 2025’ was organised at Kamla Lohtia SD College, Ludhiana, by the PG Department of Computer Science and Applications. The event was organised to explore the talent of students in the field of information technology and to give them an opportunity to showcase their IT skills. Thirty-two students from BCA and BA (computer science) participated in the event. There were three contests. Four teams, namely ‘Facebook’, ‘Snapchat’, ‘Instagram’ and ‘Whatsapp’ participated in each contest. ‘Snapchat’ team, comprising Bhavesh and Manik was declared first in the first contest, while Abhinash and Chaman from ‘Facebook’ team were declared first in the second contest and Kundan and Lakhwinder from ‘Instagram’ team were the winners of the third contest. The winners were awarded certificates and trophies.
