Capacity building workshop

DAV PUBLIC SCHOOL:Ludhiana: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) organised a two-day capacity building workshop on career guidance at Satya Bharti Adarsh Senior Secondary School, Rauni, for its teachers.



Ludhiana: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) organised a two-day capacity building workshop on career guidance at Satya Bharti Adarsh Senior Secondary School, Rauni, for its teachers. Resource persons for the workshop were Nirkesh Sharma, director/principal of Kashi Ramratan International School, Gwalior, and Amritpal Singh Chawla, director/principal of Rayat and Bahra International School, Hoshiarpur. Teachers were apprised of ways to discover the hidden skills and talents of students combined with their interests. 

Eduspace Exhibition organised

Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, Mandi Gobindgarh, oraganised an eduspace exhibition, in which students of nursery to Class XII showcased their talent through still and working models. The exhibition was inaugurated by principal Shalini Khullar. Students had put up their best efforts in preparing working and still models, which were assigned to them as holiday homework. Principal encouraged the students to develop an attitude of research-mindedness to develop the qualities of analytical and critical thinking.

English quiz held

With the objective to generate interest in the English Language, DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road, conducted an English quiz for the students of Class VI to VIII. The quiz consisted questions related to spelling, vocabulary, grammar and literature. The rapid-fire round tested the teams on their quick and accurate responses. The audience was equally involved in the quiz.

Workshop on cancer awareness

A workshop on cancer awareness was organised for its teachers by USPC Jain Public School, Chandigarh Road. The workshop was conducted by Dr Kunal Jain, consultant oncologist, and Dr Kanu Priya Jain, consultant gynaecologist, at the Dayanand Medical College and Hospital. Teachers were acquainted with various types of cancers. They also explained the importance of early detection and the advancement in technology in treating cancer effectively. Principal Vinny Malhotra said it was the responsibility of society to raise awareness against cancer.

English declamation Competition

MGM Public School held an English declamation for the students of Class VIII to XII. Students articulated their notions fluently. Tashmeen Kaur of Class VIII stood first, followed by Kamalpreet Kaur and Tashneet Kaur of Class XI. Arshdeep Kaur of Class XII won the consolation prize. Principal Poonam Sharma gave away trophies, certificates and prizes to the winners and motivated them to participate more in such competitions.

Van Mahotsava celebrated

Van Mahotsava was celebrated at New GMT Public School to make students aware about the importance of trees. Students planted saplings in and around the school campus. The plantation drive was supervised by teachers. The princpal said such activities were organised to rejuvenate students and enhance their knowledge on the need to save our environment.

Police DAV Public School 

Van Mahotsava was celebrated with great fervour at Police DAV Public School, Civil Lines. Students of kindergarten came dressed up in green and actively took part in a rally conducted pledging to save earth. A tree plantation drive was also organised. Principal Anu Verma said the rally was a success and encouraged students to understand their surroundings. 

Teej celebrated 

Teej was celebrated with great fervour and gaiety at Guru Nanak Public School, Birmi. Kids came dressed in traditional attire and hands adorned with henna. Tiny tots of nursery danced to the tunes of Chak Dhoom Chak Dhoom. Punjabi folk dance was presented by students of LKG. A speech on the importance of teej was also presented by a teacher.

Punjabi declamation competition 

A Punjabi declamation competition was held at Adarsh Public School for the students of Class VI to X. Ramanjot Kaur of Class VIII secured first position, followed by Manpreet of Class X and Damini of Class IX. Students participated with great enthusiasm. Judges motivated the participants to keep participating in such competitions.

Guru Nanak Int’l Public School

In an effort to make the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev remarkable, a Punjabi declamation competition was conducted at Guru Nanak International Public School, Model Town, for Classes IX and X. Students spoke on topics from Gurbani. Students presented their views and gave important lessons of life.

Investiture held

An investiture was held at BCM School, Basant City. The event commenced with a lamp lighting ceremony, followed by march-past and oath taking ceremony. Principal JP Singh presented the members of student council with badges. Principal congratulated the newly appointed council.

DAV Public School, BRS Nagar 

To inculcate leadership qualities among students, DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, inducted its student council for the session 2019-20. The ceremony was presided over by Rahul Sohu, IRS, presently working as deputy director at the Enforcement Directorate, Income Tax, Jalandhar. Shubhan Dua and Sejal Garg of Class XII were appointed head boy and head girl, respectively. TNS
