Car catches fire after colliding with truck
Poor visibility caused by dense fog led to mishap; occupant manages to save himself
In an accident on GT Road in Khanna, a car collided with a truck and caught fire. Fortunately, the person driving the vehicle escaped. The accident occurred due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.
Subhash Kumar, a resident of Patiala, was travelling from Ludhiana to Patiala in his Hyundai i20 car. As the car reached the Bhattian gurdwara on GT Road in Khanna, it collided with a truck. Following which it caught fire. The fire spread rapidly and engulfed the entire vehicle. Seeing the gravity of the situation, Subhash jumped out of the car and saved his life. Within minutes, the car was gutted in fire.
After getting information, the fire brigade reached the scene and managed to control the fire after considerable efforts. The Road Safety Force also reached the place after receiving information about the mishap.
