Car catches fire
A BMW car suddenly caught fire today in Ludhiana. Two young mechanics who were test-driving the vehicle after repairs jumped out to safety. The car, a 2014 model, was severely damaged. Some onlookers attempted to extinguish the fire, but failed.
Eventually, the fire brigade managed to control the blaze after considerable effort. The incident occurred near Baddowal on Ferozepur Road.
According to the mechanics, they were test-driving the car after repairs when smoke started billowing from the engine, followed by sparks and flames. They slowed down the vehicle and jumped out to safety.
The police reported no casualties and traffic police quickly cleared the approximately 3-km-long traffic jam. The fire brigade brought the fire under control in about half-an-hour.
