Ludhiana, March 30

Three car-borne youths and their accomplice on a scooter snatched a car at gunpoint near Dera Kala Singh in Haibowal locality on the night of March 28.

Dinesh Khanna of Durgapuri said he was going to drop his friend at his residence. When they reached near Dera Kala Singh, a car forced them to stop.

“When I lowered the window to talk to the turbaned youth who was standing in front of the car, one of the carjackers removed the car keys and we were forced to get off the vehicle at gunpoint,” he said.

Dinesh told the police that two of the carjackers were later identified as Kannu and his brother Aman. He also said he could identify the person who was riding the scooter. The police have registered a case under sections 392/34/506 of the IPC against Kannu, Aman and two unidentified persons. — OC
