Ludhiana: Green Land Convent School, New Subhash Nagar, organised a chatter-box activity for students of of nursery to Class III. The activity was organised with the aim to strengthen verbal and presentation skills, and to foster public-speaking competency of the young minds. The activity enabled them to improve their descriptive skills by communicating feelings, thoughts and emotions with words. The activity gave them the courage to overcome stage fear.

Industrial visit to Coca Cola plant

Students of Class XII of FMM stream of BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School visited the Coca-Cola plant of Ludhiana Beverages Private Limited in Jaspalon village, Doraha. Satinder Singh, vice-president (Technical and Quality), discussed the quality measures of coca-cola production and provided first-hand information on the market strength of Coca-Cola in the world. Sachin Verma, assistant general manager of sales commercial, also interacted with the students and answered the queries on financial standards and marketing challenges of the industry. The principal of the school, Dr Paramjit Kaur,  appreciated the FMM department for taking the initiative to arrange a session with the industry experts to boost their confidence to become efficient entrepreneurs in future. 

International Family Day celebrated

Tagore Public School celebrated International Family Day. A special presentation was given by the students of Class IX-A during a special assembly. Students highlighted the India’s relations with other countries with the aim to create awareness about the urgency of developing healthy relations to make the world a family. 

Poster-making activty 

Acting on the guidelines issued by the District Education Officer, a creative poster-making activity on drug addiction, under the banner of ‘Buddy Project’, was organised at DAV Public School, Pakhowal Road with the aim to remind students about the ill-effects of drugs. About 150 students of Class VI to XII participated in the activity. Principal Dr Satwant Kaur Bhullar said the programme aimed at giving a push to make society free of drug abuse.

Quiz held

To celebrate the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, a quiz was organised at Guru Nanak International Public School, Model Town, for Class III to V. The quiz comprised five rounds based on the life of Guru Nanak Dev. Principal Gurmant Kaur Gill appreciated the interest shown by the students and said such quizzes should be conducted to enhance students’ knowledge about the Sikh culture. TNS
