Ludhiana, August 2
A one-year-old boy from Tibba Road has tested positive for cholera. The culture report of the boy has also come positive and hence it is a confirmed case of cholera.
A Health Department team today visited the area and did a door-to-door survey. Five water samples were collected and people were made aware of necessary precautions to be taken in this regard. Pamphlets and chlorine tablets were distributed.
The team told the residents about the causes of cholera, which include unsafe drinking water, eating raw or undercooked seafood, raw fruits and vegetables and unhygienic food or drinks. — TNS
