City resident dies in Hoshiarpur

HOSHIARPUR: Raman Siddana (24), a resident of Rishi Nagar in Ludhiana, who along with his three friends was going to the Chintpurni shrine in Himachal Pradesh, died in a road accident that occurred at the Government College chowk in Hoshiarpur, while his three friends who were accompanying him were injured.

Raman Siddana (24), a resident of Rishi Nagar in Ludhiana, who along with his three friends was going to the Chintpurni shrine in Himachal Pradesh, died in a road accident that occurred at the Government College chowk in Hoshiarpur, while his three friends who were accompanying him were injured.

The four youths were riding two motorcycles which collided head-on with a Tata Pickup vehicle.

After getting the information, the Model Town police reached the spot and with the help of local residents sent them to the local Civil Hospital.

While doctors at the hospital declared Raman dead, Aman, who was riding the motorcycle with him, and the two youths, Harit and Aman, who were riding the other bike, were getting treatment at the Civil Hospital. Later, the doctors referred Aman, who is critically injured, to the DMC, Ludhiana. After the accident, the pickup driver escaped from the spot.

The Model Town police station have started investigation in the incident and registered an FIR against the absconding driver of the pickup vehicle, Malkit Singh of Jalalmajra village in Fatehgarh Sahib district, under Sections 279, 304 A, 427, 337 and 338 of the IPC. The body of the deceased was handed over to his family after autopsy.
