City students make their mark in JEE (Main) exam

Say self-study, NCERT books the key to crack the paper

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the results of JEE (Main) for January session of the exam. Many students from the city scored above 99 percentile.

Anurag Gupta from Ludhiana scored 99.97 percentile, while Mukul has scored 99.89 percentile.

Anurag, a student of KVM School dedicated his success to his hard work and consistency. Anurag wants to pursue Computer Engineering and his dream institute is IIT Delhi.

“Apart from attending classes, I used to prefer self study for some time. Days befor the exam, it was only self study and I used to devote to study for 4-5 hours a day to my self-study,” he said.

Anurag’s father is an insurance agent, while his mother is a math teacher. Giving a tip to the students who want to appear for JEE exam, he said the NCERT books were the best resources to prepare for the JEE exam. “There is no room for backlog and one needs to be consistent with his/her studies,” he said.

Mukul from BVM, Kitchlu Nagar, who scored 99.89 percentile score, also wants to opt for computer engineering and IIT is his dream institute. His father is a businessman and his mother is a housewife. Telling about his study pattern, he said after while attending classes, he used to study for 5-6 hours every day.

Self study and being regular in the studies is the success mantra for Mukul. “Keep revising your lessons and never leave a point unless it is clear to you. Success will definitely follow you,” said Mukul.

Meanwhile, Vinamr Jain secured 99.82 percentile NTA score, Yashank Aggarwal 99.79 Percentile NTA score, Anshul Gusain 99.74 percentile NTA score, Mehul Kaushal 99.71 Percentile NTA score, Rudhar Pratap Singh 99.46 percentile NTA score, Hritik Punj 99.37 Percentile NTA score, Manjot Singh Oberoi, 99.36 percentile NTA score, Tanish Jain 99.30 Percentile NTA score, Anushka Garg 99.19 percentile NTA score, Pooja 99.81 percentile NTA score, Abhishek 99.67 percentile NTA score, Aman 99.54 percentile NTA score, Jasnoor 99.47 percentile NTA score, Pranav 99.39 Percentile NTA score, Vansh 99.35 percentile NTA score, Arsh 99.34 percentile NTA score, Gurpreet 99.22 percentile NTA score, Ishaan Dhingra 99.22 percentile NTA score, Naman Singla 99.12 percentile NTA score, Yuvraj 99.1 Percentile NTA score, Angad 99.08 Percentile NTA score, Parv 99.03 Percentile NTA score, Nitin 99.008 percentile NTA score, Jaivardhan 98.95 percentile NTA score.

The first JEE (Main) examination was conducted by NTA between January 6 and 9, 2019 in two shifts per day across 258 cities in the country and abroad. A total number of 8,69,010 candidates appeared for this examination.

The JEE (Main) Exam is applicable for admission to NITs, IIITs and CFTIs.
