Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said on Saturday that seeing good works done by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), even God has given an indication that the party would be at number one in the upcoming Ludhiana West byelection. Mann was talking about the number given to the party’s candidate in the voting machine. He was addressing voters at Jawahar Nagar Camp in the evening in favour of AAP candidate Sanjeev Arora.

Addressing the gathering, Mann said generally, the number was given in an alphabetical order but since the Almighty was with them, the party had been given number one in the voting machine.

The Chief Minister asked the voters not to look beyond number one, press the button and return home. He said the duty of the voters was till June 19 and after that the duty of Sanjeev Arora starts.

“He will bring the list of works to be done in your area and I will sign,” Mann said.

“We are still fighting for basic infrastructure as nothing has been done by ruling parties for the masses. I am here in politics not because of choice but I was fed up with the prevailing system that I decided to serve the people. I was an artiste and you used to come and spend money to watch me, my programmes and I am here today to provide you funds for getting various works done. I was okay in my comfort zone, but I wanted to do something for you people,” the CM said.

AAP candidate Sanjeev Arora said he had old memories about Jawahar Nagar Camp as he spent his childhood at Bharat Nagar Chowk, which was near this place. He requested the voters to vote for him as in the past two months, many of the works of Jawahar Nagar Camp were accomplished under his supervision.

Later, Mann later went to Kips Market and Sarabha Nagar to address the voters.
