Ludhiana, June 22
“During the Covid times, BJP leaders and workers in the city have not come out of their houses and it was the Congress leaders who made sure that nobody sleeps without food during this difficult time. Now, the BJP has woken from their slumber and alleged irregularities in the distribution of food grains.” This was stated by president of the District Congress Committee Ashwani Sharma during a press conference held today.
Under the Pardhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana, 4,95,000 ration kits have been provided in Ludhiana which include 10 kg atta, 2 kg sugar and 2 kg dal. These ration kits have been distributed among the needy.
Sharma said: “It is unfortunate that instead of praising the efforts of the Congress workers, the BJP is blaming that ration was distributed among leaders and their known ones.”
Pawan Dewan, chairman of the Punjab Large Industrial Development Board, has targeted the Centre for the continuous hike in the prices of petrol and diesel. “Such decisions also questioned the intention of an industrial package of Rs 20 lakh crore which was announced by the Centre to assist the industries after the lockdown. Rather than easing the industries and common man, the Central Government is increasing the prices of petrol and diesel and is putting undue burden on them,” Dewan. — TNS
