The Shahi Imam of Punjab, Usman Ludhianvi, has called upon followers of all religions to focus ‘offline’ and on physical association with members of other sects instead of following ‘online presentation of affairs’ which normally spread communal hatred.

Addressing a gathering of office-bearers and activists of various Muslim, Hindu, Sikh and constitutional outfits after inaugurating a free ambulance service by Madarsa Umar Faruq, Ahmedgarh, Usman Ludhianvi regretted that people across the world had been trying to treat each other through online platforms which normally project unrealistic and biased situation of affairs in almost all communities.

“Just take the example of this humble effort of the management of madrasa through which a free ambulance service has been dedicated to an ailing society and not a particular community,” said Ludhianvi, appreciating those leaders from non-Muslim communities led by Municipal Council president Vikas Sharma who joined him in inaugurating the service.

Manager of the madarsa, Qari Furqan, said the decision to launch a free healthcare facility for all communities was taken keeping in view that educational services at madaras were normally available to members of Muslim community whereas the ambulance services would be available to all.

“We wish that besides being the saviour of life for beneficiaries, the venture creates the foundation for spreading the message of communal harmony,” said Furqan.
