LUDHIANA: A contractor suffered a bullet injury during celebratory firing at a marriage function on the GT road here.

Ludhiana, February 22

A contractor suffered a bullet injury during celebratory firing at a marriage function on the GT road here. 

The police have booked the suspect, Sanjeev Kumar, a resident of Bhagwan Das Colony, Salem Tabri, under Sections 336, 324, Indian Penal Code, and 25, 27, 54, 59 of the Arms Act. 

Complainant Balwinder Singh, a resident of Haibowal Kalan, stated to the police that he managed the contract of waiters for marriage palaces. 

On February 20, he arranged waiters for a marriage function at Navdeep Resorts. At around 1 am late in the night, when marriage was almost over, the suspect fired from his licenced revolver. 

The bullet after bouncing off from tiles at the resort, hit contractor’s right leg. The contractor suffered serious injuries on his leg. He was rushed to a hospital for treatment. 

The investigation officer, Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Jasvir Singh, said a case was registered against Sanjiv. “The is yet to be arrested,” he added.
