The ‘outsourced’ employees of the VRDL lab here who were hired by the Baba Farid University of Health Sciences have been on strike for the past three days. As a result, the work of Covid testing has been affected.

The striking employees are demanding absorption in the Department of Medical Education.

Dr Sunik Malik, general secretary of the Punjab Corona Lab Union, said they were ‘outsourced’ when there was Covid outbreak last year and they were assured of being included into the department.
