Ludhiana, September 22
The Ludhiana Police Commissioner today went live on Facebook and answered hundreds of queries of residents regarding Covid pandemic.
Sounding a warning note, Rakesh Agrawal said the police would not spare rumour-mongers. He said five FIRs were already registered against rumour-mongers who had spread disinformation about Covid.
Answering a query, Agrawal said factory owners should not take chance if any of their workers had Covid-like symptoms. If a worker asks for leave citing any symptoms, the factory owner should grant him leave and his salary should not be deducted.
No parties, social or political gatherings, are allowed. Only 30 persons are allowed at one marriage function or at programmes related to death of a person.
Replying to a query, he said if there is only one person in a car, he need not wear a mask but he should be carrying a mask so that whenever he steps out of the vehicle, he can wear it. A cyclist need not wear a mask if riding alone. Still, one can wear a mask to save himself from the virus as a precautionary measure.
Agrawal cautioned people against protesting on roads as it might spread infection. He, however, said holding a protest was the democratic right of people.
